Detoxification

I cannot stress enough, how important it is for us to rid the body of toxins and my belief is that their accumulation in the body slows down cell function and increases the chances of cancer formation or serious chronic degenerative conditions.

The Kidneys and the Urinary System
They cleanse our blood. They are responsible for filtration of the blood and removal of waste products by producing urine.

The kidneys remove wastes from the body including the drugs we take and chemical preservatives in food that we ingest. The kidneys are vital to our health. Without them our bodies would become so toxic that we would die. We take them for granted. Unlike the liver, however, they do not regenerate easily and once diseased they create a number of health problems.

Often patients with kidneys that are not functioning optimally are those with dark rings or bags under their eyes or who suffer chronic fatigue. In the iris of the eye, those who are born with a kidney - lymphatic constitution type are prone to kidney problems and if not careful end up on dialysis in later years. Many iris signs also indicate weak kidneys associated with urinary tract problems and bladder infections. Through my years of iris studies, I have found that kidney problems or disposition to kidney problems can be detected as early as three years of age. It is very important to assist weak kidneys as soon as possible to prevent serious degeneration that is then difficult to cure. Another possible outcome of weak kidney function is skin problems. This includes eczema, dry and itchy skin, boils and various other skin diseases. Poor kidney function also often manifests itself in fluid accumulation in the body, or edema. This can be seen as puffiness in the face, fluid accumulation in the arms or legs, or in the head where migraine headaches often occur. Yes, even migraine headaches can often be traced back to a poorly functioning kidney.

We need to be reminded to take care of our kidneys. Feeling tired, angry, anxious, depressed, nervous, or aggressive, may be a sign that our bodies are overloaded with toxins.

Our kidneys need water to properly get rid of the toxic wastes in our bodies and to reduce the risk of kidney stone formation. Water does not include alcohol, coffee or black tea. If you suffer from arthritis, back pain, fatigue, or headaches, you cannot expect to improve your health if you do not drink enough water! So many health problems that I have seen have improved dramatically once the body is supplied with one of the most important and essential nutrients we need constantly every day, plain unsweetened and un-carbonated water.

While iris diagnosis often detects a weakened kidney, it also can reveal the consequences such as skin problems, toxin accumulation in the body, over-acidic conditions, high blood pressure, and the strain on other organs such as the liver and the heart. Kidney stones cannot be seen in the iris of the eye as they have no nerve supply but often-acute inflammation signs may be seen in the kidney areas, which can indicate the possibility. As we saw in the kidney lymphatic genetic iris constitution, yellow pigment in the iris can indicate weaknesses in the kidneys and the appearance of breaks in the fibers, flecks, lacunae, or nerve rings can be seen in conditions like glomerulonephritis, bladder infections, and other associated urinary or kidney problems.

The Liver
The liver may not be the most glamorous organ in the body but it is the largest and in my opinion, the second greatest in importance next to the intestines.

When the liver is not functioning properly, people feel cranky, nauseous, and irritable and symptoms range from flatulence, headaches, fluid retention, skin problems and constipation to jaundice and cirrhosis. People need to realize that if they take care of their livers, they will solve a great majority of their health problems, since it is the liver where the problems often begin. The liver performs around 22 primary functions and is responsible for a total of two thousand reactions and functions in the body. Think about it for a moment, almost 2,000 functions from one body organ, such is the importance of our liver.

While the liver is a integral component of the digestive system in its production of bile, it has many other functions including metabolism of hormones, fats, and carbohydrates, synthesis of plasma proteins, formation of urea which is eventually filtered by the kidneys and removed as urine, destruction of worn-out blood cells, and glucose balance. One of its primary functions is detoxification of the blood.

When the liver is not healthy, people find it difficult to handle animal protein. The protein deficiency then creates further health problems and consequently other systems in the body begin to malfunction. The result is a population that is very lethargic, with no appetite in the morning, which needs to be artificially stimulated into activity with coffee and sugar or cigarettes in order to make it through the day.

The iris often reveals liver involvement by brown flecks seen throughout the iris

The Lymphatic System
Do you suffer from constant coughs, sore throat, or flu? Do you find that the frequency of these conditions is increasing every year? Are bacterial infections taking longer to clear up? If the answer is "yes", you probably have a congested lymphatic system.
